We Are Only Human

We all have flaws, we’ve all made mistakes, failed at times and obscurely overthink. We sit and think time and time again about the past and try to replay a different scenario in our heads.

Remember, we are only human

It’s been over a year since the start of the pandemic, and I don’t think anyone imagined how fast our lives would change.

One thing, which I think we have been doing, is overanalyzing our flaws. I know personally I’ve been struggling with it. We all have flaws, we’ve all made mistakes, failed at times and obscurely overthink. We sit and think time and time again about the past and try to replay a different scenario in our heads, mentally torturing ourselves over and over again.

Deep down, we know we shouldn’t be doing this, especially when it’s something we can’t change anymore. When a loved one is talking themselves down, we quickly motivate them and try to uplift them. Yet, when it comes to us, we choose to blame and criticize ourselves in trying to find a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

This is a form of mental self-harm. This is what causes us to overthink, become anxious, and stressed when in reality we shouldn’t be even thinking about these things in the first place. Instead, we should learn to accept and come to terms with what has happened and leave it in the past. There’s a reason why these things have happened, and we shouldn’t dwell on them.

I know it’s hard, especially being stuck in a pandemic, but I want you to remember these things:

1. Your past mistakes don’t define you – everything happens for a reason, and everything that has happened has brought you to this exact moment.

2. It’s okay not to be okay – You have survived your worst days and yet you are still here. You deserve to have a break!

3. You are still learning and growing – you don’t need to know everything or have it all figured out. Take baby steps and keep teaching yourself because life is all about learning and moving forward.

4. You are worthy, be proud! – don’t let other people define who you are or dictate your life. You are more than enough and more than able to make your own decisions. You are unique, powerful and you’ve come so far. So, keep going and believe in yourself!

We are all perfectly imperfect and that’s what makes us humans. So, don’t be too harsh on yourself!
